The benefits class

Recommended Posts

Quite a leap of 'logic' there willman - nothing new there then.

I don't believe that ANY type of fraud is acceptable.

thats funny though you've just defended the complete unemployed society - without even a discriminatory remark aginst such people.

thats the point of the op - the "class" underbelly of society who's only mode of living is to fraudulently claim off the dole.

it has been said time and again that valid disability claimants etc are not included within the comments posted.

just the people who refuse to look for work or who diddle the dole.

But its convenient for some people to twist any debate on the scroungers into a debate on all benefit claimants, perhaps some of the comments made are a little close to home for some posters.

it's convenient for some people to twist any debate away from the real benefits scandal which is the amount of people not claiming what they are entitled to.

Thats ok then, the scroungers are just having what the legally entitled are not claiming, a warped view im afraid, must do better.

Benefit Fraud is a tenth of the money lost to the tax payer by accountants tax avoidance schemes. Both need to be tackled, but why is that the focus always seems to be on the benefits fraudsters ?

If you really want fraud to properly tackled we need better investment in Jobcentre Plus and not the 30,000 joblosses over the last few years along with 5% yearly cuts in funding under the next 3 years spending review.

What is more important for the tax payer is targetting the rich and their accountants who avoid £20 billion pounds worth of tax every year. These tax avoidance consultants are the very same people that the Govt. coseys up to and consults on tax policy Andersson, Deloitte, Cap Gemini, Ernst & Young etc. This is the real scandal.

I agree with you, it's an utter disgrace.

But the government is basically powerless against the might and influence of these international companies, and so instead turns its guns on ordinary people who have no way of fighting back and hurting the government in return.

These accountants are paid well to advise their clients on the best way to avoid paying tax, most of these avoidance schemes are legal, benefit fraud isnt.

Only because those with power have a way of bending the meaning of legal and covering their own backs.
