So your wording that I quoted in post #29 is at least misleading. The other party (employer) need 'admit' nothing; it's the employee who's wanting to prove the contractual obligation, isn't it? If he/she can, the employer's bound.

OP told us that I was offered a job verbally several weeks ago which I accepted. Now this offer has been withdrawn because apparently the correct recruitment and selection procedures were not followed. Is the verbal offer binding?. He/she did not say whether acceptance was oral or written. Irrespective, OP might be able to use one of the other routes that I mentioned (part-performance or estoppel). Also see post #12; read that, did you?
