Can you imagine running a night or a pub where students were not allowed and the uproar that would cause?

It wouldn't cause uproar, because it would never happen. How could you possibly tell if someone is a student or not - other than by going off how they look/speak? Which, as things stand, will probably have an impact as to whether they're allowed in or not?

There are plenty of pubs where students aren't welcome. Usually the ones that have banners outside saying 'student friendly'...

where are these places where students are not welcome??

and if they find out they are a student, are they refused entry??

How can you "find out" someone is a student? You can't, unless you physically search for evidence of an NUS card.

As for places where students aren't welcome – well, they aren't exactly tough to spot! Though there are probably fewer of them these days than there were in the past.
