BurtonStreet Posted August 12, 2007 Share Posted August 12, 2007 Burton Street announces a regular new weekly event. – Poems, Prose and Pints Starting Tuesday 4th September , Burton Street is going to host a weekly " Poem, Prose and Pints" Open Mic night - aimed at Creative Writers who want a platform to perform their own writings or favourite written pieces in like -minded company. We have hosted a few events over the years as part of the ‘off the Shelf’ Festival and these have always been well attended and enjoyed by those who participated. However, it will be clear to all that the opportunities for regular readings of creative work in Sheffield are few and far between. Well , Burton Street wants to be different. We want to offer a regular venue that celebrates creativity not just 'tolerates it'. So, if you are a creative writer - come and perform your work at Burton Street, if you enjoy listening to the spoken work , come along and have a good night. BurtonStreet Posted August 30, 2007 Author Share Posted August 30, 2007 Just a reminder that our new 'Open Mic' night for Creative Writers ' Poems, Prose and Pints' is starting next Tuesday in the Bar at Burton Street Foundation,. Old School, Burton Street, Hillsborugh S6 2HH - nearest Tram stop is Bamforth Street. We plan to kick off at 7pm and go on til about10pm. This is a opportunity for anyone wanting to read out their own work - or even read out a favourite piece of writing by someone else , to come along and have a go. We are going t hold this event EVERY TUEDAY as long as people turn up. Entry is FREE. We have found that quite a few other events are clashing on Tuesday and so we hope that more people will be able to attend. The night is open to anyone wanting to read out thier own works or indeed any favourite pieces by other authors. Venue - Burton Bar, Old School .
