Yodameister
I'm sure they are not doing it with the intention of "winding people up". It is a commercial decision. The ground is not filling up. Rather than reduce the prices they think it is a good idea to get new punters in. They assume that reducing general prices would not get more people in, because if you are a comitted fan you are going to go anyway. I don't know if they are right or not, but that is the thinking. Yodameister
So...... Write to them, get involved with supporters clubs, make your voice heard. Yeah it does sound like they are being a bit short sighted, but its no good telling us!
boyface
Im sure *some* of them will buy extra pint(s) and a programme The pies will cos the club about 10p each robbie...HUGE profit. As inept as our board are, this won't have been run at a loss. Personally, Gillingham won't have been bringing many fans, so why don't we let some students in? I've got a season ticket, but I'm not whinging about the £10 a ticket deals they do for 4 games a year.
boyface
You should remember as well…loads of students are footy fans. Sheffield has more students stay on in the city after they finish uni than anywhere else in the country. Now if they're keen footy fans and you can get them to like your team, even if after they finish uni they only take in a few games a season, it's still money for the club. Then they have kids, who in turn are likely to go to the match with their dad and grow up as blades fans. It's worthwhile in my opinion.

smedley
I think it's fine that the students get tickets for a fiver, as long as they have to wear t-shirts that say "I am a student" on the back, then the BBC will have legitimate targets. bigrods
They were given the top tier of the Bramall Lane End. Oh how I wish I had a sniper - they were ripe for picking off!
