Tracey.C.
The market got my thumbs up, i enjoyed walking around there and the smell of all the different foods was lovely.
TrashyBook
I've heard that the continental market is back on Fargate from Thursday - Sunday this week (Thurs 1 July - Sun 4 July). Can anyone confirm this?
Sony
I've spent a few years in France and obviously been in quite a few supermarkets there. Well the French stand that was there the past couple of times on Fargate was selling " Cassoulet" a very french dish in a tin which was number 1 brand. This is the cheapest brand in all supermarkets in France (I guess its equivalent to the economy range in supermarkets here). That very tin is worth about £0.40 in France and tastes foul and they had the cheek to sell it over here for £3.50 a tin!!! Not only that but it gives a bad image of the supposed lovely french cuisine over here as those people imported the worst possible stuff... Andy
The Telegraph reported that it is coming back this weekend. It said there are going to be fewer english and more european stalls this time too.
Greybeard
Last Saturday I saw signs advertsing the continental market next weekend....and on Saturday 4th. July it's also the Mayor's Parade, which is a virtual guarantee of rain and total traffic chaos.
tas1
Pity it's not publicized - I'c have popped into town during lunch to take a look.
