Tricky
If you can't cope with five hard games in a row you don't deserve to be world champions. The world champions won't have to cope with 5 hard games in a row. You can tell them they don't deserve it if you like...
Code13
But the seeding system for the World Cup draw is based on how teams did last time. England have earned an "easier" path. Ireland have to deal the hand we have been dealt, no excuses.
ReginaldD
Olly Barkley has been injured in training leaving England without a recognised 10 for the game against South Africa. It would be interesting to see Farrell 10, not sure if his decision-making will be upto speed, but he has a big boot and nice hands. You don't get anywhere without taking risks, eh? Code13
Farrell played stand-off in some of his League international appearances. He certainly has plenty of kicking skills. Difficulty is that in League the stand-off gets more space, due to the ten metre rule, so he wouldn't be experienced in receiving the ball at stand-off with the defence in such close proximity. happyhippy
If Ireland beat either France or Argentina we should go through. If we can't beat either of those, we don't deserve to go through. Not that either are easy, but Ireland should be aiming for a semi-final spot so should be expecting to beat at least one top tier country in the group stage. Admittedly we should have beaten France at Croke Park, and as a result taking the Grand Slam, but beating them away is a tough ask, and the performance v. Namibia was nothing short of a shambles. Code13
I see Andy Farrell is going to play stand-off against South Africa for England.
happyhippy
That says to me that England will simply play to the forwards, even more than ever. Can't blame them; it is their strong point.
Heyesey
Anyone watch the Fiji-Japan game? Someone needs to explain to the Fijians that when the eighty minutes has expired, you are in the lead, and you have the ball, all you need to do is throw it off the field and you win. They seemed to be doing their best to commit suicide, at the finish.
