Towaninnie
After reading convict papers here in Australia I am led to believe that one of my ancestors left his wife and children in Sheffield. The convict's name was James UNDY and he left his wife Mary behind when he was convicted to Tasmania for 'Stealing cloth' (1829). Mary was recorded as remaining at 'Sheffield Manor' with her father, Thomas. Does anyone know where there may be any indexes to residents of Sheffield Manor or how I may go about chasing any descendants of this Thomas Raggs, or his daughter Mary (later UNDY) or Mary's two known children to James. Surely, Thomas had more than one child (Mary) and waht position/role did Thomas have on 'Sheffield Manor'? Thanks, Towaninnie.
