BritPat
Incredible facts No. 565134: Roald Dahl is actually called Ronald. Experiencing anguish as a young man, he visited countless doctors and therapists. He eventually changed his name after finding out that he had a fear of the letter N. Given his name he was obviously far less anguished over the letter R which is just as well or we would all be seeing Willy Wonka in a totally new light
llamatron
"She might even be your lovely school-teacher who is reading these words to you at this very moment. Look carefully at that teacher. Perhaps she is smiling at the absurdity of such a suggestion. Don't let that put you off. It could be part of cleverness. I am not, of course, telling you for one second that your teacher actually is a witch. All I am saying is that she might be one. It is most unlikely. But--here comes the big "but"--not impossible." — Roald Dahl (The Witches) Genius!

the_rudeboy
On the radio this morning I heard they want to raise money to preserve the hut at the bottom of the garden that Roald Dahl wrote his books in. Apparently this will take half a million pounds. Must be some hut, that's all I can say. They must be extracting the urine. The family must be minted. metalman
They must be extracting the urine. The family must be minted. Looks like other people have the same thought. I've found the full story on the BBC website now, here.
