honeyb35
who got married at a registry office, especially sheffield one, and what was it like?
fluffystuff
I got married there at the end of June. I thought it was really nice, partly because it is an old building. You can do a virtual tour here http://www.spinsheffield.com/tours/Sheffield_Town_Hall/0 They also have an open day on Sunday 23rd Sept http://www.sheffield.gov.uk/your-city-council/the-town-hall/townhallroomsforprivatefunctions/townhallopenday

I went to a friends in may last year and no sooner had the guests managed to get out of the room than the staff were pushing everyone out of the building despite the bride and groom trying to have photos done! It really put me off but finances look like thats all they'll stretch to! I wondered if it was better going for a weekday wedding as well as being in winter to avoid being their at their busiest times.
MissDamasel
Just wondering which entrance you go in when you get married. I get married there in november and have never been inside.. Do all your guests get to go inthe same entrance as you??
Meaks
You go in the front entrance with all your guests. The Town Hall reception area is quite nice and good for some photos. You go onto a waiting room where you wait for the wedding in front to finish, then you all pile in.

honeyb35
We went to the open day last sunday and were really impressed with the place, especially the new rooms upstairs! Bit confused though as in the price list we got it says its £1000 for just the ceremony there now? I thought it was only about £200?
Shazbat
We're having ours at the Town Hall and although part of me is worried about feeling like I'm on a conveyor belt, I'm not keen on being gawped at for too long lol
Kashul
The only thing that put me off having a reg wedding when we got married was the having to see eachother before the ceremony...Kills all the suspense and suprise in my mind. Can anyone tell me why you have to do that anyway ? You dont for ceremonies in churches or hotels etc...
