Was a bit shambolic really but hey ho, it looks good on my CV Ha! And now now Simon, everyone knows the exposed awards are better Doh!! i hate being caught out!!! Rumour has it, this was an absolute flop last night at D.Q......WELL IT WAS £12.50 A TICKET!! sigh. rumours. i was talking to people last night who went and said they had a right laugh. oh, and the runaway girl won best bar food awards. funny that, coz i was banging on about how their food was amongst the best ive ever eaten out in sheff just the other day. im a woman of good taste Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
CathH Posted October 11, 2007 Share Posted October 11, 2007 I went to the awards and to be honest, it was a bit of a shambles. A lot of the people there were taking it well serious but we just took it for what it was and had a right laugh along with the ace peeps from Bungalows & Bears. We got runner up for best live music venue and one of our lads walked up to make a speech (the runner ups weren't supposed to) and said something along the lines of.."I'd like to thank the organisers for all the organisation that has gone into this tremendous evening". The other highlight of the night was realising you get a bottle of vodka when you win an award and 'a bloke' from 'a bar' going up on behalf of a winning bar who hadn't showed up and drinking their vodka. Resourceful. Apparently it was about £12 a ticket which was a bit of a joke but we took it as a great excuse to get ****** with our colleagues. and the people we like from other bars.
